Biomaterials and Advanced Ceramics Laboratory (Labiomat) was established at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Materials Engineering Department in November, 2002. The research focus on biomaterials, implantable devices and electronic ceramics: bioceramics, biopolymers, scaffolds for tissue engineering, coatings, prosthesis, electronics sensors, varistors, semiconductors. The main goal is to develop new technologies using native Brazilian materials.
